 Lead Pastor

Sasha Rasmussen

Sasha Rasmussen was born in Canada, lived his childhood in Buffalo Wyoming, and then lived in the Treasure Valley from 4th grade until his Senior Year.  Sasha’s call to ministry started when he was young, asking his father that if God called him to Africa would he be willing to drive him there.  His call was refined in high-school when he felt a distinct call to youth ministry.  He went to Liberty University to study Bible and then worked in a youth ministry internships in Boise and a missions internship in Argentina.  In Argentina Sasha felt led by God to do youth missions on a long term basis.  Sasha also met and married his wife Maria in Argentina.  They have two girls Isabella and Chiara.  Sasha and his family served in Argentina for a total of 14 years.

In 2018 Sasha and his family moved back to the U.S. and Sasha began working at True Hope Downtown Boise as Family Pastor.  In January of 2021 Sasha was invited to lead the adoption and replanting of New Direction Church in Nampa as True Hope Nampa. In order to be a part of the community they minister in the Rasmussen family moved to Nampa in August of 2021, and have been enjoying becoming a part of the community here.

Sasha loves to fly fish, play the drums and guitar, and spend time with his beautiful girls.

Our Leadership Structure

We are a mixture of church leadership styles to provide the right mix of leadership, accountability, and congregational involvement. Our model is best defined as:

  • Pastor-led - We recognize the Pastor and staff's calling (1 Peter 5:2-3, Acts 20:28) to shepherd the church. The Pastor and staff's role is to lead the day-to-day aspect of the church, providing vision, direction, and discipleship (Ephesians 4:11-16) for the church.

  • Board-Guided - We recognize the value of shared leadership. While the Pastor & staff are leading day-to-day, the Leadership Board loves, supports, and provides accountability for the Pastor and staff to stay true to the church's vision.

  • People-Gifted - Ephesians 4:11-16 shares the role of the church's leadership is to "equip the saints for the work of ministry." The greatest ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ are not the ones who stand on stage but the ones who sit in the crowd. Our calling is to equip and encourage the body of Christ to discover their unique calling and live that out in the everyday stuff of life to make disciples that make disciples.
